Job Description
At Regions, the Specialized Industries Analyst serves as the primary analytical support for senior bankers in the origination and execution of traditional corporate banking products and services, including loan syndications, various capital markets products, and strategic and financial advisory services. The Analyst provides these services as part of a client team that also consists of Associates, Vice Presidents, and Directors/Managing Directors. Analysts are expected to split time between a) supporting live deals and pitches across the full spectrum of products and services, b) supporting general advisory assignments (public and private company buy-side and sell-side engagements, etc.), and c) research/analytical support. Analysts typically work for three (3) years before having the opportunity to advance to the Associate position. This position is within the specialized industries bank client coverage/origination for Regions Bank and Regions Securities LLC. 


​​​​​​​Responsibilities

  • Supports senior bankers by conducting research, staying abreast of client and industry trends, and participating in industry and client related strategic and tactical planning

  • Participates in client meetings, due diligence visits, and other client interactions during which they gain exposure to key executives and senior bankers

  • Maintains proprietary databases through monitoring news, current events, transactions and financial information for clients, prospects and other industry participants

  • Understands client needs and identifies Regions products and services, or other unique, actionable ideas that can help clients achieve their goals

  • Develops and maintains detailed financial models to value companies and depict projected financial results

  • Ensures high quality of client deliverables by having strong written communication skills and attention to detail

  • Prepares written material, including pitches, proposals, client materials and associated supporting analyses

  • Conducts extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters of a transaction


This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. 


This position is incentive eligible.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with proven record of high achievement

  • Coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance


Preferences

  • Past relevant experience  (i.e., summer internships or one (1) to two (2) years past experience)


Skills and Competencies

  • Advanced user of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Energetic self-starter with willingness to work long hours and take on significant responsibilities

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Dedication towards excellence and achieving results

  • Capability to pass Series 79 and Series 63 license exams and requirements
